Commissioner proud of Leicestershire Police

Figures showing Leicestershire Police with one of the lowest number of days lost due to sickness have been praised today by Police and Crime Commissioner Lord Willy Bach.

The Commissioner said that he was proud to see the Leicestershire force in the top ten forces in England and Wales for the lowest sickness rates.  The force was the second best performer with regards to police officers and had the seventh lowest rates for police staff.

“These figures illustrate the success of a long-running programme to promote health and well-being across the force,” he said.  “Those working for Leicestershire Police are our biggest asset and their health is important to us.

“I’m very proud of this achievement.”

Forces are required to record the number of days lost due to sickness, both for police officers and police staff, plus the reasons for sickness.
