PCC and MP meeting to discuss ASB in Lutterworth

Leicestershire’s Police and Crime Commissioner Lord Willy Bach is to meet Alberto Costa, MP for South Leicestershire and local partners in response to reports of anti-social behaviour (ASB) at Coventry Road Recreation Ground, Lutterworth.

The meeting, which Mr Costa will be chairing, will begin at 2.00pm on Thursday 2nd February and will be held at the One Stop Shop, Gilmorton Road, Lutterworth.

This will enable police, local authority representatives and other partners to hear direct from members of the local community about the ASB problems at the Recreation Ground, with an aim of securing an effective multi-agency response to these issues.

The Commissioner and Alberto Costa were both involved in the successful work to tackle ASB in Countesthorpe recently.

Willy Bach said: “Anti-social behaviour is a blight on the quality of life in our communities.  The police cannot solve this in isolation but as we have proved in Countesthorpe and elsewhere, by working collectively with local partners we can achieve effective results.  It’s disappointing to hear that there are problems at the Recreation Ground but hopefully, together, we can take steps to address the problem with sustainable solutions.”

Alberto Costa MP added: “I’m very grateful to Lord Bach and other representatives from local agencies for finding time in their busy schedules to meet with me in order to discuss this vitally important issue. Anti-Social Behaviour can be the cause of considerable distress and upset for residents, not only in South Leicestershire, but also the wider country, hence why I’m very pleased to have the relevant stakeholders together in one place so we can find a workable solution to the issues affecting residents in Lutterworth.”
