Police Chiefs go shopping for information

Police and Crime Commissioner Lord Willy Bach and Chief Constable Simon Cole have added a new element to the shopping list when they join forces to go on the hunt for local opinion at a ‘What Matters To You’ event.

Members of public will have the opportunity to meet the pair and members of the local policing team.  They will be invited to share their experiences with those setting policing priorities and give their views on crime and public safety.

The event is being held at Asda in Thurmaston between 12.30-2.30pm on Tuesday 27 March.

Public feedback is vital to both the PCC and the Chief Constable as they seek to meet the policing needs and expectations of different communities and helps to influence where resources are allocated.

Willy Bach said: “These are events enable a grass roots conversation between the public, the Chief and I.  They are always well-attended and is a great opportunity for a real two-way conversation.  We all learn something.

“Simon and I will be around throughout the afternoon to chat to people and talk about local concerns. It’s a really great chance for us to hear what really matters to people and what needs to be done to help. If you are in the area please, pay us a visit!”

Asda is located in Barkby Thorpe Lane, Thurmaston, LE4 8GN.
