Police responsibility with regard to young people repeatedly reported as ‘missing from home’ will be considered by members Leicestershire’s independent police ethics committee when it meets next week.
Leicestershire Police and Crime Commissioner Lord Willy Bach’s Ethics, Integrity and Complaints Committee will meet on Friday 15 March 2019 at Police HQ.
Members will be asked to discuss the ethical approach to three very different individuals who have repeatedly been reported as missing from home. Such ‘ethical dilemmas’ are a regular feature of these meetings, often reaching thought-provoking conclusions.
Other papers on the agenda include a review of complaint and civil claims.
The Ethics, Integrity and Complaints Committee was set up to provide greater accountability to the public of policing processes including the complaints system and hold the Force to account for its decisions.
