I want to see more children in Leicestershire, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, with a life-long habit of reading for pleasure and the improved life chances this brings them. Reading is a powerful means of crime prevention. World Book Day plays a big part.

My long-standing conviction is that people across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland want more police officers on their streets and in their neighbourhoods.
