The budget for policing Leicestershire in 2017/18 has been set at £171.639m. This equates to an increase of £0.799m (0.47%) from the 2016/17 net budget requirement level of £170.840m. Approximately two thirds of this is funded by the Government and with the remainder coming from the police precept in the local Council Tax.
The 2017/18 Precept proposal is the first precept proposed by Lord Bach in his term as Police and Crime Commissioner.
